Perilous is a great boss, you could learn Zulrah if you’re looking for a challenge, you can’t start early waves of colosseum for money and start learning that, you can tureal skip for slayer points to do araxxor, you can work towards song of the elves and learn gauntlet

I wouldn't do Sarachnis, unless you're after the pet. Moons of Peril could be fun and can make you some good money.

RS skills are never about the journey, they are about the destination. Get X skill level for X quest, get X skill level to make X thing, get X skill level to hit X max hit at X combat level. The only make or break of anything is if when you reach X if there is a rewarding thing to do or repeat. You reach 85+ mining, you mine rune ore, a lot. If I reach 85 sailing, I better be able to go to an island and complete a sailing required activity and get like 350k gp and some various island specific or task specific resources like wood from a forested island, or ore from a rocky island, or maybe dragonhides and bones from a dragon isle. Think less "this is only agility" to more "this is agility with extra steps for a reward." Also, the reason why the player said "Oh no" when hit with ice barrage was I believe he wouldn't be able to steer his ship and it would hit the sunken one or would sink itself. If there is combat ship to ship and you get rewards for a naval battle thats still just pking with extra steps thats the best we could ever hope for with the engine. I feel like ship pvp is you put your risk in the chest in the back, you have a ship hand and ship loadout, and you have standard pvp with navigation but if you die instead of losing your stuff you will be "washed ashore" but lose your boat loadout. The pvp might not be for gear at all, but rather resources or sailing specific items loaded on a boat - which means your being a PIRATE if you pvp which is awesome to you and infuriating to the other sailor. The skill will feel like agility and quests put together, with some pvp and pvm and the pvm might be sailing level locked specific making it like a slayer 2.0 where you might have to do a mini-game like event to take them down instead of raw combat skills and equpt.

I agree with all points, as weird as it sounds I was hoping that sailing was gonna be exploration via sailing but training it by regular gameplay, maybe like setting up outposts or something, not by janky movements on water. That being said if they have a good playtest team I'd rather have then take 5 years and make it a great skill than release it being like the sailing shown in the videos

i voted for sailing because it seemed to have the least impact on gameplay. if its good then great, if its not, then i should be able to just ignore it and continue playing normally without feeling at a disadvantage in the core gameplay

the thing with the boat in the maze isnt going to be what it looks like. they have those barriers there to show how the movement mechanic will work. its a test. its not going to actually look anything like that. its going to be water not barriers.

The vision the dev team have for sailing would probably be much easier to understand if you actually read the blogposts.

Sailing seems to be much better as a transportation method or minigame esque. It doesn’t seem to fit the 1-99 skill mold with XP unlocks etc…

the movement is fine, if you are facing one way and click the opposite way, logically with a boat you cant just instantly turn around, it takes time to turn the boat in that direction

what ive learned from this is that they can recreate the game in unity for testing but they wont for public lol
